We are seeking a Compliance Officer at the Vice President level to join Greystone. The newly created role will assist the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) create a best-in-class compliance program. The Compliance Officer will partner with other enterprise functions and our operating Business Leaders to provide consultation and oversight to manage and anticipate compliance risk.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide independent advice, challenge, and assist with building controls for the business’ compliance risk-taking activities.
  • Assist in the administration, maintenance, and improvement of the enterprise compliance program at Greystone.
  • Manage and conduct new hire and annual employee training on the Code of Conduct and Compliance-related policies and procedures.
  • Conduct ongoing compliance risk assessments and evaluation of corresponding controls.
  • Perform compliance testing and monitoring to critically evaluate policies, procedures, processes, and controls.
  • Develop and oversee processes for internal incident reporting and issues management, including issue analysis and development and oversight of remediation plans.

Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • 5 + years of prior compliance experience at a financial institution, commercial real estate lender, or regulatory agency covering commercial real estate lending, commercial banking, private funds, or Registered Investment Advisers.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area of study. A graduate degree (e.g., MBA or JD) is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and crucially, a collegial, friendly team player.
  • Ability to articulate views and approaches both verbally and in writing, concisely and persuasively.
  • Ability to present to and respond effectively to senior internal and external stakeholders, including regulators.

Greystone offers a competitive base salary and bonus. The base salary range for this position is $125,000 to $175,000/year. The specific compensation that will be offered is based on an understanding of the hired candidates' qualifications at the time of hire. Employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on employee work performance reviewed during the annual review process.
