Remote Contract Attorney- Part Time (4-6 month on 1099)

Overview
Humanscale is seeking an attorney to work on a temporary, contracted basis to start immediately and continue to mid-November, 2024. The position will be flexible and require 50% to 100% of the attorneys time, depending on the week. The candidate must have contract experience. The ideal candidate will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, have strong written/verbal communication, administrative/organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. Projects will include assisting with drafting and review of commercial contracts, among other responsibilities. The position is remote and the candidate has the option of coming into our New York, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, including vendor, IT/software, and service agreements
- Conduct legal research
- Provide substantive support on legal issues as needed
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor required
- Must be admitted, active and in good standing in the state of practice
- At least 5 years of relevant in-house and/or law firm legal experience
- Demonstrated ability to work and manage time spent on projects independently and with little supervision while performing duties
- Experience with contract drafting and advising on privacy and information security laws and principals
- In-house experience preferred
Hourly Range: $125.00-$175.00
