About the Position:

Job requirements

Responsibilities:

Intellectual Property Management: Spearhead the strategic management of the company's intellectual property portfolio.

Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Engage in the drafting, review and negotiation of a diverse array of contracts, ranging from vendor agreements to licensing agreements, with a keen eye on IP-related clauses and considerations.

Corporate Governance: Provide astute legal counsel and support on corporate governance matters, ensuring adherence to pertinent laws and regulations while fostering a culture of compliance within the organization.

Litigation Management: Assist in the oversight and management of litigation and other legal disputes, leveraging a judicious blend of legal acumen and strategic insight to navigate complexities effectively.

Legal Research and Analysis: Undertake comprehensive legal research and analysis on various corporate legal issues, furnishing actionable insights and informed recommendations to guide decision-making processes.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Foster collaborative partnerships with internal stakeholders, including executives, managers and cross-functional teams, to furnish expert legal guidance and facilitate seamless operational workflows.

Qualifications:

Educational requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Admission to the state bar and in good standing.

Relevant experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law with a focus on intellectual property.

Experience working in the chemical industry or with chemical-related technologies.

Skills and competencies

Strong knowledge of intellectual property law, including patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret law.

Experience managing a large intellectual property portfolio.

Excellent analytical, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.

Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide practical legal guidance.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in the chemical industry or a related field.

Degree (e.g., Bachelor’s, Master's, or PhD) in a scientific or technical field.

Salary Range: This position is a Level 4 at Origin Materials. The pay range for this position level at Origin Materials is $133,900-$187, 300 This range is not necessarily a guarantee of actual compensation that may be earned nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee, which is always dependent on relevant experience, education and other factors.
