Enterprise Holdings’ Legal Department has an immediate opening for the position of Corporate Counsel reporting to reporting to the Vice President and Associate General Counsel and primarily supporting its wholly-owned subsidiary DEEM, an innovative managed-travel technology platform that provides online booking and travel technology products for business travelers, travel managers, travel management companies and suppliers. This position will require close collaboration with the business and colleagues in the Enterprise Law Department. This position will primarily be responsible for ensuring the competent and timely provision of day-to-day legal services in support of DEEM’s sales and marketing efforts, including commercial transactions, regulatory review, general corporate and preventative law initiatives along with management of outside counsel. In conjunction with subject matter experts in the Enterprise Law Department, the successful candidate will also provide general legal support for other DEEM initiatives, as well as general matters supporting Enterprise’s businesses. Today, the company’s three brands serve more than 95 percent of the worldwide car rental market. This position is located at our St. Louis, MO headquarters, with regular travel to San Francisco, CA.

Identify, manage and assist in the resolution of legal issues in a manner consistent with the company’s business philosophy and strategy, and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements;Prepare and negotiate contracts to which the company is a party and ensure that they properly protect the company’s interests and objectives;Provide timely and accurate interpretations of the various laws and regulations affecting the company’s businesses to senior management and operating personnel; keep them apprised of the types of action that require legal consideration and provide internal guidance regarding potential legal risk;Monitor and keep management and operating personnel abreast of the existence and impact of judicial and regulatory developments affecting potential legal exposures and compliance obligations of the company;Prepare best practices and present training to various personnel throughout the organization;Provide ongoing guidance and consultation regarding potential and actual disputes; andPartner with assigned functional areas and operating units to help drive DEEM’s business model and execute its strategies. Minimum:Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school requiredAdmission and good standing with the bar in California and/or Missouri or one state bar in the United States with the ability to get a limited license to practice in-house in Missouri requiredPrevious Westlaw experience requiredBroad generalist skill set with the ability to independently research and analyze issues requiredDrafting and negotiation of contracts experience required (experience with technology contracts a plus)Five (5) years or more of relevant experience in a business law firm or in a corporate law department with a proven record of professional excellence and achievement requiredIntermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office products required (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)Previous experience with travel management, GDS (or similar), privacy & data protection or technology-based services a plusAble to travel regularlyMust be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the futureCompetency Based Collaborative skills set and work ethic a mustOutstanding interpersonal skillsSuperior verbal communication skillsExcellent writing & drafting skillsHigh level of attention to detail and processEffective team playerProven leadership skillsHigh level of professionalism and integrity; strong ethical standards
