Provides legal advice, counsel and service to internal business clients concerning legal rights, obligations, and privileges of corporations. Keeps current on legislative issues, statutes, decisions and ordinances of quasi-judicial bodies. Examines legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuit. Acts as agent of corporation in various transactions. Advises company regarding concerns for risk assessment. Must have admission to practice law. May develop, review, or implement company-wide and/or functionally specific training programs. May also oversee corporate governance matters and its various committees. May work with outside counsel to direct activities.

Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Labor, Litigation, and Compliance of Lockheed Martin Corporation Aeronautics Company. This position will serve as counsel and advisor to the company for the Aeronautics site located in Greenville, South Carolina, including associated sites located around the country as well as international locations. Responsibilities include providing counsel and legal advice on general issues, investigations, compliance issues and other general matters of law such as transactions, general litigation, general regulatory matters and practices, and compliance with relevant federal, state and local laws and regulations. Will also be responsible for providing general advice for employment issues and managing outside counsel to include the following:
- The Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Workers Adjustment and Retraining and Notification Act, the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Service Contract Act and Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Employment policies and practices, including recruiting, hiring, employee discipline, medical and other absences and return to work, talent management and promotions, terminations, diversity, employee medical and health; employee privacy and personal data protection; workplace violence; workforce reductions; international assignments; drug-free workplace; equal employment opportunity and affirmative action requirements under Federal, state and local law and regulation, including submissions and responses to EEOC and OFCCP requests for information and audits; prevailing wages and wage payment laws.
- Effectively representing the Corporation before Federal and state courts and administrative agencies involving alleged unlawful discrimination and harassment, reasonable accommodation, retaliation, minimum wage, overtime, and wage payment issues, violation of Federal, state and/or local law or regulation, wrongful discharge and other employment claims.
- Prepare legal updates on emerging employment law issues.
- Interact with outside legal counsel on various issues.
- Statutory and regulatory compliance matters, such as advising employees and managers on compliance issues associated with both U.S. Government and international business issues related to Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other international anti-corruption laws, standards of conduct and conflict of interest provisions (e.g., U.S. Government "Revolving Door" issues), required reporting to government agencies associated with U.S. Government contracts and international business including but not limited to, FAR mandatory disclosures, anti-boycott issues, environmental regulations, and related matters.

This attorney must demonstrate superior judgment and work product, must be a self-starter and able to work semi-autonomously. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Selected candidate must be a US citizen.
Basic Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited Law School with at least 5 years in the following skills:
- Experience with compliance issues, general transactional work and litigation.
- License to practice law in the United States.

- Internal investigations.
- Employment-related laws and regulations (The Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Workers Adjustment and Retraining and Notification Act, the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Service Contract Act and Sarbanes-Oxley).
