Altarum Institute is pleased to announce an open position (part-time) for a Corporate Attorney at the headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI. The Attorney will reside in the Contract and Legal Operations Department, and will report to the Department Director. This new position is part-time, less than 20 hours a week, and will have a flexible schedule.

Support the current Corporate Attorney with day-to-day legal matters and initiatives.Participate in the review, drafting and negotiation of Government (federal, state, and local) contracts and grants, and private agreements and grantsParticipate in the review, drafting and negotiation of complex vendor agreements, subcontract, consulting agreements, purchase order terms and conditions, etc.Provide support for other transactional legal work, including the review, drafting and negotiation of specialized commercial and other agreements such as Memoranda of Understanding, Memoranda of Agreement, Teaming Agreements, Non-disclosure Agreements, Licensing Agreements, etc.Train and/or mentor legal and contracting staff on contracting terms and related policies and procedures and matters.Identify business issues and advise internal clients.Conduct legal research and analysis.Assist and support each of the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel with assigned tasks, as requested.Other duties as assigned.

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and 3 to 5 years of corporate law experience.Requires membership in the State Bar as an attorney qualified to practice law in the State of Michigan.Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations for intricate federal and state contracting agreements.Eager to learnPersonable, energetic and an effective communicator with a collaborative, team-oriented style and the ability to interact easily with a diverse audience. Excellent project management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Detail-oriented and possess excellent writing, communication, organization and multi-tasking skills.Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet critical deadlines in a fast paced work environment, provide practical legal advice and display a high degree of initiative, discretion, integrity, and judgment.Non-profit and/or government consulting experience is preferred.Altarum Institute (Altarum) is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
