Contracts Attorney- General Counsel

The Legal Contracts Specialist is responsible for preparing, examining, analyzing, negotiating (in person and over conference calls), and revising contracts that involve the purchase or sale of goods or services such as equipment, materials, supplies, or products. This position works cross departmentally and looks to reduce Niagara’s risk through contracting. This is a full-time exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Detailed Description

  • Assist with contract development, administration and tracking of key legal provisions.
  • Negotiate contract terms, conditions, standards and language with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain accurate contract records and files in contract database for better reporting accuracy.
  • Training of new plants, new corporate personnel and Departments on the Contracting and COI Process.
  • Misc. Projects requested on an as-needed basis.

  • Advanced knowledge of contract law and its application in the purchasing process;

  • Strong grammar;
  • Excellent computer skills in Excel, contract databases and MS Word. Knowledge of Oracle a plus;

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Juris Doctor (JD) Degree
