Position Overview

Corporate Counsel – Consumer Sales Legal Team

NortonLifeLock is hiring a Corporate Counsel in the Consumer Sales Legal Team. This is an opportunity to join a team of legal professionals supporting strategic alliances and partner contracts for consumer cybersecurity solutions including Norton and LifeLock identity theft protection products and services. These products and services are provided to end-user consumers through various direct and indirect business models, distribution and sales channels including B2B2C, OEM, service provider, e-commerce, retail and employee benefits offerings. This position includes strategizing, advising, and negotiating standard and non-standard agreements, new business models with companies – large and small, financial institutions, and other partners. Responsibilities include advising on consumer protection laws and FTC requirements, financial institution regulatory matters, privacy and security data policies and laws, and data breach services. In this position, you will have the opportunity to address unique cybersecurity and data challenges in a fast-paced environment.

What you will do in this job

  • Role model the highest standard of ethics and integrity
  • All aspects of commercial transactions work, complex and simple, US and global
  • Demonstrate exceptional legal skills and business acumen to develop compliance, risk mitigation and practical solutions to drive partner and sales contract relationships
  • Exercise good legal and business judgment, strong communication and problem-solving skills, serve as a business and thought partner and advocate for the Company
  • Manage end to end drafting, updating and negotiating key agreements, templates and contracting best practices
  • Easily collaborate and assess legal, financial and business stakeholder input and other subject matter experts with speed, Comfortable advising on financial and pricing terms
  • Effectively explain risk and legal issues with leaders, business and technology partners
  • Improve and innovate new processes and efficiencies for scalable legal support
  • Learn and teach others on relevant legal and compliance topics, best practices, policies and procedures

What you need to succeed in this job

  • 5 to 8 years of relevant in-house attorney experience; top tier law firm and/or in-house counsel at a high growth technology software company preferred.
  • JD from accredited institution and State Bar certification
  • Can thrive with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, sales driven environment with a professional demeanor and good humor
  • Detail oriented, yet able to clarify and breakdown complex matters with plain language and accuracy
  • Strong listening, verbal and collaboration skills to find better solutions with internal stakeholders and mutual agreement with negotiating parties; Ability to take positions and influence others
  • Ability to identify critical issues, prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently and coach others as needed; willingness to take on all levels of work assigned, whether simple or complex tasks
  • Eagerness to learn, brainstorm problems as a team and contribute to a high performing team
  • Able to think strategically and drive projects and cross functional teams with end-to-end accountability
  • Proficiency in MS Office products and other online tools
