Avamere Health Services, LLC is looking for an in-house attorney with at least two-years of experience who is a self-starter with an innate ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This position will provide support to the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and Associate General Counsel (AGC) on a wide variety of legal matters which encompass all aspects of the organization including growth and development, compliance, human resources, licensure and more. Someone with sophisticated communication skills, academic and emotional intelligence, strong organizational skills and a commitment to quality service will be an ideal candidate for this role. The Avamere legal department is a small group of smart, motivated individuals with diverse backgrounds and interests who respect and value creativity, communication and humor.

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts (including real property leases, equipment financing documents, cable agreements, master services agreement, software agreements, consulting agreements, independent contractor agreements and more).Draft transaction documents and supporting documents related thereto for acquisitions, sales and other transactions.Create standardized forms and review and negotiate requested changes to existing forms. Supervise paralegal with regard to contract matters.Analyze complex situations and provide practical, timely and accurate legal advice.Work closely and effectively with General Counsel, Associate General Counsel, senior management, other company employees of all levels and cultures within the organization.Perform other duties as required. JD degree. Member, in good standing, of at least one US State Bar and willingness to commit to membership in the Oregon State Bar, either fully licensed or as in-house counsel.Minimum of two years’ experience in law firm, government or corporate setting. Contracts experience is required. Real estate experience is a plus.Experience with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of contracts.Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills including ability to assess implications of proposed actions/arguments and respond appropriately in internal and external forums.Interested in learning to be a lawyer. Good listener. Excellent strategic thinking and drafting skills, combining pragmatism, creativity, and common sense. Ability to deliver and offer excellent, customer-focused legal services to employees, senior management and others and distill legal concepts and issues in a manner to make them understandable.Aptitude for working as a team member, meeting timelines and managing and prioritizing multiple tasks.Creative, efficient and decisive problem-solver.High integrity in all interactions and decisions.
