Junior Legal Counsel

The main focus of the role is to advise the business on legal, regulatory and compliance matters. This role also supports the company with expert and strategic advice on various business and legal affairs.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

    • Providing expert and legal advice on day-to-day operational questions and commercial terms;
    • Managing and participating in in-house legal projects;
    • Communicating and negotiating with external parties, such as regulators, external counsels, clients, authorities and similar;
    • Interpretation and enforcement of corporate policies;
    • Dealing with matters that cut across legal and related areas and keep updated of legislative changes;
    • Any other ad-hoc job-related duties as required.

TO DO IT, YOU WILL NEED:

    • JD from an accredited law school.
    • Bar membership in good standing.
    • At least 2 years of legal experience at a law firm, in-house, or working for a state or federal regulatory or enforcement body.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience negotiating, drafting, and interpreting commercial agreements.
    • Understanding of how legal terms translate to business impact.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize between them.
    • Ability to work comfortably in an intense, fast paced international environment.
    • Thoroughly enjoys technology and doing business.
    • Ability to communicate and present issues and matters to all levels of an organization.
    • Enjoys building relationship, having fun with co-workers and charming business partners.
    • Experience in tech or the gaming industry and/or online marketing is an advantage.
    • Excellent command of the English language is essential.
    • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish would be considered an asset.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Self-motivated, structured and thrive in giving a high degree of service.
Working Conditions:

This position is 100% remote. Must be available regular business hours in your evening and/or weekend work on occasion. Must possess a stable, high-speed internet and working cellular telephone. Must be able to routinely perform indoor work with minimum noise levels. Must be able to perform job functions independently and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to plan and direct the work activities of self and others. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence, naturally or electronically and may include adaptive aids. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.

Physical Requirements:

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 8 hours per day. At times, occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Must be capable of travel by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities, as may be occasionally asked to travel to sites or events. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
