What We Need:

iHeartMedia is seeking a Vice President and Counsel to join our Legal Affairs/Contracts team.

What You'll Do:

  • Negotiating with opposing counsel or agents for upcoming employment contracts for on-air and online broadcast, podcast talent, or other talent.

  • Negotiate, preparing and drafting a high volume of contracts for on-air and podcast talent, programming employees and executives, including complex financial structuring for multi-year deals.

  • Analyzing issues and providing strategic advice and transaction expertise with the business teams.

  • Actively engaging in building and maintaining direct talent relationships as well as agent/attorney relationships for Companys broadcast, programming and podcast talent.

  • Maintaining and expanding strong working relationships with the local markets, networks, Premiere Networks and podcast teams.

  • Supporting the Senior Vice President with oversight and management of standards, policies and best practices for all talent deal negotiations, contract administration and reporting.

  • Supporting the Companys contract management system.

  • Advising and counseling assigned markets on any broadcast operations issues, questions and/or projects related to programming talent.

What You'll Need:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school and 6+ years of legal experience in a U.S. Law firm or an in-house legal position.

  • Admitted to practice law from any state within the United States and in good standing;

  • Experience negotiating with opposing counsel, and also preferably with talent agents;

  • Experience drafting contracts, in particular employment and/or entertainment deals ;

  • Must be extremely detail oriented and a self-starter;

  • Exceptional time management skills;

  • Be a quick learner in a high paced environment and be able to retain information quickly.

  • Able to prioritize urgent requests or time sensitive contracts.

  • Be prompt with responses to business and team members.

  • Ability to work with senior management.

  • Familiarity with a contract management system is a plus.
