Top Company in Dallas Has Deputy General Counsel Litigation Opportunity

We are working with a fantastic Company in Dallas. This Company seeks an in-house attorney with 12+ yrs. of experience, particularly in commercial, construction defect, insurance, and/or real estate litigation.

The attorney will provide legal advice and counsel to the executive leadership team and all levels of management regarding all aspects of the company's business including but not limited to construction litigation, contract disputes, PI matters, environmental, joint venture activity, and administrative and appellate matters.

The attorney will manage litigation and regulatory counsel.

Will help prepare litigation and risk reports to the Audit Committee of the BOD, as well as outside auditors.

Should have experience litigating insurance issues including additional insured and indemnity claims against third parties

Understanding of setting reserves for the Company’s reserve reports for claims.

Sound analysis of liability exposure, including opportunities for risk transfer, and litigating in established time frames and budgets to achieve overall strategic objectives

Advise senior managers and General Counsel on a wide range of issues including Sarbanes-Oxley control activities, financial reserve establishment pursuant to ASC 450, and development and execution of crisis communication strategies.

Advise on potential litigation risks related to joint venture operating agreements, complex real estate acquisitions, product and procurement contracts, and subcontractor agreements.

Ability to represent the Company at meditations, and when necessary, trial/arbitration

Qualifications

At least 14+ years of litigation experience - in commercial, construction defect, insurance, and/or real estate

A membership in good standing in TX State Bar, with strong academic and law firm credentials

Must have in-house experience
