This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior-level M&A attorney! The successful candidate will be self-motivated, driven, team-oriented and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with a company that is undergoing transformational change and growth.
This role is based inNew York, NY.
Primary Responsibilities
Taking a lead role in M&A and other transactions for Focus and its partner firms, including by discussing legal and business issues with senior leaders of the firm and actively structuring, negotiating and drafting transaction agreements and related documentation.
Thinking like an owner to solve business and legal issues to help the company achieve its goals.
Assisting with the review of NDA, vendor, services and other commercial contracts for Focus and its partner firms as needed.
Managing and coordinating with outside counsel.

Qualifications
A Juris Doctor degree from a nationally recognized U.S. law school.
A minimum of seven years as an attorney at a major U.S. law firm focusing largely on M&A and other transactional matters. Additional relevant in-house experience is a plus but not required.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects and transactions independently and efficiently, including in areas outside of your expertise.
Excellent writing (including drafting) and oral communication skills.
Sound business judgement and the ability to think strategically and communicate effectively.
An understanding of securities laws and SEC regulation generally. Familiarity with the regulation of investment advisers specifically will be a plus.
Desire to work collaboratively as part of a cohesive team.

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be $265,00 to $275,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other reward may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
