We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous attorney to work within our corporate legal department as corporate counsel. This attorney will report to the General Counsel, work closely with other in-house attorneys and external counsel, and must be a motivated and resilient self-starter capable of communicating with and providing guidance to other departments on a variety of tasks and responsibilities.

  • Third-year law students encouraged to apply.
  • Must have a Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution, be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and be in good standing; or be currently enrolled as a third-year law student planning to graduate in Spring 2024 with plans to sit for the Texas Bar Exam in 2024.
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • 0-3 years in practice
  • Prior in-house counsel and/or private practice experience at a law firm a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Office Suite) with the ability to learn new software
  • Excellent proofreading skills with attention to detail
Day-to-Day Duties:

Assists with compliance-related matters and claims management for a prepaid legal services
company
Drafts and reviews legal documents for a wide variety of purposes
Advises various departments and staff on a broad range of best legal practices and compliance
issues, and provides advice to minimize legal risks while advancing business goals and initiatives.
Works with internal marketing and video production departments to review promotional material
for legal accuracy and to provide appropriate disclaimers as needed
Works closely with marketing department to ensure compliance for all company promotions,
campaigns, and giveaways
Monitors and assists employees and contractors with individual licensing across multiple states,
and reviews and analyzes material for legal compliance and regulatory requirements.
Works closely across multiple departments to complete projects
Legal research as needed for company projects
Responds to members coverage questions
Other duties as assigned

Benefits:
$100,000 - $110,000 annually
