General Counsel
Silverview Credit Partners is a leader in providing lower middle market private credit capital solutions, specializing in debt transactions between $10mm and $30mm.
Role Description
Silverview is currently looking to hire a fully remote, deal attorney with a title of General Counsel. This role requires 3-5+ years of legal experience within the investment management industry at a top-tier law firm or asset manager. The role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work directly for the Managing Partner of the Firm which manages multiple funds and investment vehicles focused on Direct Lending in the Lower Middle Market.
Management
• Establish and monitor the Legal budget and annual function goals for Legal. Manage outside counsel for cost-efficiency and effectiveness.
• Be a proactive member of the team through driving a culture of compliance and risk while representing vision, values, goals, capabilities and strategic agenda for the Firm.
• Manage legal risks for the Firm.
Advice
Partner with and support all functions of the business by providing requisite legal advice and interpretation of laws, regulations and contractual obligations.
Loan Documentation
Review and negotiate loan documentation for the Firm. Maintain legal requirements for exiting loan positions.
Litigations / Mediation / Disputes
Manage all litigation, mediation and other legal disputes for the Firm including developing and implementing appropriate strategies.
Workout / Restructuring
• Assist in all legal aspects of workouts and restructurings related to loan defaults.
Policies and Rules
• Responsible for the maintenance of all legal policies and rules for the Firm.
Corporate Agreements
Draft, review and negotiate agreements for the Firm.
Corporate Governance
Manage and administer corporate governance for the Firm.
Regulatory Items
Provide support to the Investment, Operations and Compliance functions as appropriate in identifying and resolving regulatory and risk issues. Assist Compliance during inspections and on inspection-related matters and regulator relations.
Requirements
Attorney with 3 - 5+ years of investment management legal experience at a top-tier law firm or asset management firm
Communication: ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
Finance: experience with loan documentation
Customer Service: ability to respond to stakeholders’ needs in a timely and courteous manner
Ability to work independently and remotely
Law degree
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
