You Are...

As Head of US Legal in Better Collective, you will be part of a talented and ambitious team. You will lead a growing US Legal team, provide diverse legal guidance to a variety of internal stakeholders and help drive our US legal processes. You will balance commercial and strategic goals with legal and risk factors and work extensively with corporate and commercial law, advertising regulations, gambling law and intellectual property. Occasionally, international and domestic travel will be required. This position is part of our global Group Legal & Compliance team and will report to our General Counsel in Denmark.

You Will:

Develop and lead North American legal strategy to promote and protect the company's interests

Manage an international team of legal professionals, ensuring high levels of performance, development, and engagement

Lead the delivery of legal support to the North American business to help accomplish corporate goals, strategies and priorities

Lead North America public policy initiatives, including engagement with relevant regulators and participation in trade bodies

Cascade Group Legal & Compliance initiatives down through the North American business, ensuring that they are adapted as needed to local requirements

Maintain a deep understanding of relevant legal risk and liability and company position on various matters

Support the company’s M&A activity as needed, from due diligence through to integration

Project manage the implementation of legal initiatives and projects.

Job requirements

You Have...

10+ years post-qualification experience; a combination of in-house legal and private practice experience is an advantage; 3-5 years experience in a similar position is strongly preferred

Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited institution; admission to the New York, California and/or Florida state bar is an advantage

Experience in commercial, corporate, media, gaming and/or e-commerce law

Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and client service skills

Experience exercising influence and managing change while having an open and inclusive tone

Ability to translate complex legal concepts into simple language and clear action plans

Commercial mind-set and business acumen; drive to deliver high quality results with a strong attention to detail

Positive, can-do attitude to fuel growth and innovation

Ability to multi-task and follow through in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment

Professional report writing and presentation skills; reasonably high level of technological literacy and adaptability to new tools and technologies; Legal Operations knowledge is an advantage.

Base Salary Range: $250,000-$320,000
