Corporate Counsel

Please note: This role is onsite in Cartersville and Dalton, GA.
Role Summary:
The Corporate Counsel will provide legal support on a wide range of corporate matters. This role will be responsible for the legal representation of Qcells in transactions and communications with customers, suppliers, vendors, and other third parties. Corporate Counsel will also manage the trade compliance department and ensure adherence to customs and trade laws and internal compliance procedures. Corporate Counsel will manage both legal and business considerations in this role. As a key member of our team, you will review, interpret, and translate legal requirements and effectively communicate these to the business and external stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities
- Provide legal support and guidance to the business team and management on a variety of legal issues.
- Review new business relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and customers. Negotiate, draft, and edit supplier and customer agreements
- Oversee and provide guidance to the compliance department, including trade compliance
- Develop corporate compliance policies and ensure adherence to the policies and regulations
- Prepare and file government reports as needed
- Draft legal documents
- Provide supervision to outside lawyers hired to assist the corporation with their specialized legal services
- Stay up to date on changes to regulations relevant to the business
- Protect Qcells against legal risks, penalties, and investigations
Qualifications:
Education and Expertise
- Juris Doctorate from ABA accredited law school and active license to practice law in Georgia
- 7-10 years of in-house counsel experience and 2-3 years at a law firm preferred
- Experience in the solar industry or the energy sector is a plus
Other Qualifications
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, provide commercially focused practical legal advice, and appropriately consider risks to Qcells
- Experience in analysis, review, and drafting of complex vendor contracts required
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail, strategic and analytical thinking and ability
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate across all levels within the organization
- Legal and moral integrity
- Authoritative and has managerial and negotiation skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and adhere to deadlines
- Ability to translate complex legal or factual issues into plain language communications
- Self-motivator and ability to act independently
- Ability to work in a dynamic, multicultural environment
