Our client is an innovative telehealth company based in Austin, TX, offering cutting-edge virtual clinic services that are transforming the healthcare industry. By leveraging technology to provide accessible and efficient healthcare solutions, they are committed to improving patient outcomes and expanding access to medical services. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a Chief Legal Officer to join their executive team. This pivotal role will report directly to the CEO and be instrumental in navigating the complex legal landscape of telehealth.

Responsibilities:

Provide expert legal advice and guidance to the CEO and executive team on all legal matters affecting the company.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, particularly those pertaining to telehealth and virtual healthcare services.

Oversee the company’s legal risk management strategies, identifying potential legal issues and implementing preventive measures.

Manage and coordinate all legal aspects of business operations, including contracts, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and litigation.

Serve as the primary liaison with external legal counsel, managing relationships and ensuring the efficient handling of all legal matters.

Review and draft complex agreements, including partnerships, vendor contracts, and licensing agreements.

Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that could impact the company’s operations, providing strategic advice on necessary adjustments.

Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and promote ethical practices within the organization.

Provide training and support to staff on legal matters and regulatory requirements.

Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and other formal matters as necessary.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Texas.

Extensive experience in a senior legal role, preferably within the healthcare or telehealth industry.

In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, telehealth laws, and compliance requirements.

Proven ability to manage complex legal matters and provide strategic legal guidance to senior executives.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
