    Job Description

    Overview

    The Associate Corporate Counsel, reporting to the General Counsel, will oversee the day-to-day management and administration of the Legal Department, including maintaining compliance with state and federal law, implementing and maintaining a privacy program, equity plan administration, negotiating vendor and other agreements, managing employment and other litigation, and managing the needs of a dynamic technology company. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide legal support and guidance to APFM across various business operations and functions to manage risk and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
    • Lead engagement across internal business departments to identify and resolve legal issues, and support business verticals
    • Manage corporate governance and administer equity plan
    • Negotiate agreements and serve as escalation pathway as needed during contract disputes 
    • Liaise with Human Resources for resources and claims
    • Draft and update company policies and procedures
    • Assist with M&A activities
    • Partner with Head of Government affairs in proactive and reactive legislative activity
    • Partner with finance and banking to maintain internal financial controls, and support annual audit activities
    • Day-to-day management of intellectual property portfolio
    • Serve as Secretary to 401(k) Committee
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Qualifications and Skills

    • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
    • License to practice in any state.
    • Minimum seven years’ experience, health care and in-house experience preferred.
    • Excellent legal research, writing, and editing skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and superb organizational skills.
    • Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
    • Meticulously track documentation and maintain extremely organized records.
    • Ability to produce results with high efficiency and accuracy.
    • Ability to write and edit simple, professional correspondence with a focus on a high degree of professionalism and customer service.
    • Self-starter and independent working style.

    Additional Information:

    • The position is a salaried, exempt position.                                  
    • Compensation
      • Base Salary: $200,000-$220,000
      • Management Bonus: 30% of annual earnings
