Seeking a Senior Counsel to join the Noble Compliance team, supporting key compliance and ethics program elements. This position will focus on establishing and ensuring full implementation of compliance goals related to the end-to-end investigative process. This includes collaboration with relevant parties, thorough documentation, developing metrics and training on issues related to the Noble Code of Conduct. The successful candidate will have experience with in-house corporate investigations and/or have represented clients in investigative matters. Requires strong presentation skills and the ability to interact effectively and cooperatively at all levels in the Noble organization, including with executives, employees, contractors, lawyers (in-house and in private practice), and other professionals. This position reports to the Noble Chief Compliance Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Current license to practice law in relevant jurisdiction, member in good standing of relevant bar association.
  • 8+ years of experience in an equivalent position or in related fields gained in both law firm and/or in-house environments.
  • International experience.
  • Investigations and/or Litigation experience.
  • Diverse regulatory compliance experience (i.e., investigations, anti-trust, FCPA related issues).
  • Demonstrated ability to distinguish relevant facts, assimilate and analyze facts, and apply legal conclusions.
  • Good communication and analytical skills, good legal research skills, teamwork skills, good problem-solving skills, and good legal writing skills.
  • Demonstrated strong management skills and ability to plan and organize.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Preferred, not required

  • Judicial Clerkship experience.
  • Oilfield and/or Maritime services experience.
  • Fluent in English and one of the following: Spanish, Danish, Arabic, or Portuguese.
  • Experience in Computer Forensics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct and supervise internal investigations of alleged violations of the Code of Conduct, as well as U.S. and international laws. This includes formulating investigation strategies, conducting interviews, obtaining and analyzing evidence, preparing investigation reports, and presenting investigative results to executives and senior management.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute global initiatives to assist in managing compliance risks, including compliance training, policy drafting, and global risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with key contacts in Human Resources, Internal Audit, Operations and other areas on issues relating to compliance.
  • Provide question and answer assistance to employees, contractors, and vendors regarding the ethics and compliance program and the Noble reporting hotline.
  • Provide legal advice to the Company to minimize legal and reputation risk, and to meet the Companys commitment to conducting business with ethics and integrity.
  • Research and track laws, regulations, and enforcement activities that might impact policies or practices.
  • Analyze trends, identify compliance risk areas, and develop presentations for executives.
  • Collaborate with internal and outside counsel to respond to subpoenas, government inquiries, and other investigations.
  • Liaise with customer/supplier legal departments and other third parties to explain the Companys compliance program and address any concerns about internal controls/processes.
  • Lead and assist in other special projects and legal initiatives.
  • 25% travel
