Group Overview

Sculptor Capitals Legal group provides legal counsel and support to all areas of the Firm's diversified platform of strategies and products, as well as the publicly traded entity. The Legal group acts as a strategic partner with various teams across the Firm to support the Firms objectives, and works with the Compliance department to preserve the legal and ethical integrity of the Firm.

Role

The Legal team is looking for a junior attorney to support all aspects of the legal department, including transactional and funds work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior attorneys with a wide-variety of legal matters, including reviewing and drafting transactional documents for real estate, structured credit, corporate credit, restructuring, CLO and equity transactions.
  • Manage internal processes and controls for transaction closings, including acting as liaison between Legal team and various internal groups to facilitate the closing of transactions including compliance, accounting and operations, as well as drafting of internal consents, term sheets, engagement letters and other documentation.

Qualifications

  • J.D. required from an accredited law school, top 20% of class
  • Prior experience with legal documentation preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
  • Candidates should be detail-oriented and possess excellent organizational and communication skills and be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment with ability balance multiple tasks while managing short and long-term goals simultaneously
