ZT Systems is looking for a Commercial Counsel to join our team.

Job Description

• As Commercial Counsel at ZT Systems, youll be joining an agile team of seasoned in-house lawyers and exposed to many aspects of commercial practice. With the support of the entire legal team, youll work independently to build relationships with business stakeholders (including sales, procurement, IT, HR, real estate acquisition, and construction/equipment), analyze legal issues, draft and negotiate agreements, create templates and streamlined processes, and provide general business legal advice.
• Youll report directly to the General Counsel.
• At ZT Systems, we like spending time together and believe that true collaboration is best done in person. This job is fully in office; with a primary site at our HQ in Secaucus, New Jersey; will consider applicants at other offices -- Seattle and Austin.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of customer relationships, ZT Systems products and services, suppliers, and vendors to provide pragmatic legal advice.
• Draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements and other legal documents in close collaboration with senior members of the legal team.
• Establish, maintain, and revise template agreements.
• Draft policies and procedures, as required.

• Ability to quickly grasp business objectives and apply them to legal strategies in a way that is pragmatic and flexible.
• Demonstrable record of effective collaboration with legal colleagues and across business groups.
• Team player willing to regularly incorporate feedback of others into work processes.
• Strong work ethic, sense of ownership, and ability to multitask, prioritize, and follow-through on numerous projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
• Sound and practical judgment and desire to establish a trusted advisor relationships with business stakeholders.
• Ability to give succinct, commercially-driven legal advice.
• Must have Project Manager attitude and skill-set.
• Exemplary personal and professional integrity.
• Strong ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Technical product knowledge of datacenters and hyperscale computing are a large plus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of legal experience preferably with a mix of litigation and transactional experience; at least some in-house experience is a plus.
• Subject matter expertise: general corporate, commercial real estate, international trade, and/or complex business litigation.
• Admitted to and a member in good standing of at least one U.S. bar; eligible to waive into the jurisdiction of practice (e.g., NJ, TX, or WA).
