Job Description Sr. Corporate Counsel, Privacy/Product (Hybrid)

Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, Global Privacy/Product, the Sr. Corporate Counsel, Privacy/Product is responsible for leading the Omnicell Legal collaboration with Omnicells product, engineering, quality, and compliance teams. Responsibilities include (i) formalizing legal collaboration and process in go to market, full product lifecycle process; (ii) collaborating with the legal colleagues on cross functional strategy for go to market process; (iii) working closely as a trusted business partner with product, engineering, quality, compliance and other internal business partners; (iv) leading negotiations on ecosystem partner agreements (i.e., co-marketing, co-development, reseller, data feeds); and (v) ensuring that Omnicells Privacy by Design framework is maintained and continues to evolve in accordance with future business needs and privacy legislation. Successful candidates will be both results-driven and client-focused. This is a hybrid Austin, TX based role.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with product team on full product lifecycle matters, from conception to adjustment to end of life.
  • Provide strategic legal input to product, engineering, compliance, and quality teams.
  • Formalize and maintain artifacts of legal collaboration with product, compliance, and quality, including contribution to policy documents and creation of templates.
  • Lead negotiations with ecosystem partners as well as advise on implementation strategies;
  • Work closely with legal contracting colleagues to adopt contract changes and create ancillary supporting artifacts (e.g., internal training and talking points)
  • Collaborate with training lead regarding training strategy for product, compliance, engineering and quality, along with other cross-functional training possibilities.
  • Ensure that Privacy by Design methodologies are followed by applicable partners in the Omnicell organization, providing legal guidance where necessary.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong initiative and ability and willingness to learn and seek information
  • Ability to identify issues and to offer pragmatic, actionable solutions
  • Experience working within fast-growing technology companies and adaptability to evolving internal and business policies and procedures
  • Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Strong contract negotiation skills and a solid understanding of common legal and business terms
  • Ability to independently set and communicate prioritized goals and timelines to internal customers
  • Attention to detail and well organized
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Basic Qualifications:

  • J.D.; member in good standing of a state Bar
  • CIPP/US, CIPP/E
  • 5+ years of privacy knowledge and experience, specifically related to Privacy by Design
  • 5+ years of experience with SaaS and professional services contracting
  • 7+ years of experience drafting, reviewing, and leading negotiating complex technology transactions
  • Substantial experience working with product management and/or engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CIPM
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Firm understanding of revenue recognition principles
  • Project Management experience
  • Product development and life cycle management

Work Conditions:

  • Hybrid - periodic in office or in shared office space
  • Flexibility in working hours as needed
  • Some travel, ~10%
