Who You Are:

Were looking for an experienced and energetic Vice President of Legal, Homeowner to serve as the lead lawyer supporting our homeowner facing operations.

As our Vice President of Legal, Homeowner youll work directly with Hometaps Sales, Investment Support, Marketing, Product, and executive teams to deliver our services to homeowners. Reporting to the General Counsel, youll help continue to build out the legal infrastructure supporting Hometaps business operations and be directly involved in driving Hometaps growth. Youll thrive in this role if youre an experienced financial services lawyer with a deep background in home finance, consumer regulatory issues, and a track record of providing actionable guidance in a cross-functional environment.

What Youll Do:

  • Serve as the lead attorney for Hometaps home equity investment product, including providing guidance on new product initiatives and marketing, advising the business on regulatory developments, and managing litigation
  • Collaborate with Sales and Investment Support to enhance our Homeowner experience and manage high complexity escalations
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on home finance regulation and emerging regulatory issues affecting our homeowner facing operations
  • Act as Hometaps representative and subject matter expert on our product for investors, regulators, and other stakeholders
  • Oversee Hometaps vendor contracts and contract management system
  • Build and manage relationships with outside counsel to drive long term transaction efficiency
  • Document processes, identify areas for improvement, and take action to optimize our legal support processes as we grow
  • Provide legal support on other matters as needed

  • Experience as the primary lawyer providing end to end support for a consumer facing financial product
  • A practical, business savvy approach to managing operational issues in highly regulated environments

  • A hands-on, curious attitude, along with a passion for exploring emerging industries
