Position Overview

ATLAS SP Legal provides legal counsel to ATLAS SP. This role is for a Director-level position to lead the development and implementation of the Legal Departments review of Front Office structured finance transactions. As part of that role the candidate would:

  • Provide advice to deal teams and oversight with respect to all ATLAS SP warehouse lending and securitization transactions in the U.S and overseas.
  • Develop a system to manage and track deal execution for both warehouse lending and securitization transactions.
  • Stay current on the global regulatory landscape affecting the securitization market across the various underlying asset classes underlying ATLAS SP transactions and across jurisdictions.
  • Provide advice and oversight with respect to reputational, regulatory and other risks that may impact ATLAS SP structured finance transactions.
  • As needed, support or lead development and execution of other Legal Department projects and initiatives in coordination with internal business teams and control functions.

Qualification and Experience

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in structured or corporate finance transactions.
  • Hold a J.D. from accredited law school and licensed or qualified to practice law in the United States.
  • Ability to manage and execute transactions with minimal oversight.
  • Effective negotiator with strong business acumen and ability to serve as a business advisor with strong analytic capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions and teams, work independently and efficiently, manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines with high quality work product.
  • Sound judgment, excellent interpersonal skills with proven experience in relationship building.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to simplify complex issues for non-lawyers.
  • Fast learner; able to adapt to business and regulatory changes; interest to challenge status quo and find new solutions.
  • Team-oriented, collegiate and supportive of others success.

Base Salary Range

$200,000 - $250,000

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed here.
