The Pall General Counsel leads the Pall legal and compliance team and is responsible for providing global leadership of the legal and compliance function which includes all traditional legal areas, as well as anti-bribery and corruption compliance, intellectual property, data privacy and trade compliance. The General Counsel advises senior leadership on a wide variety of legal, regulatory, compliance, and business matters globally. The diverse and inclusive team of legal and intellectual property professionals in the US, Europe and Asia supports a wide variety of legal matters such as intellectual property, data privacy, deal diligence, strategic contracts, litigation management, corporate governance as well as routine legal and compliance operations. The General Counsel reports to the General Counsel of the Life Sciences Platform, with a dotted line reporting relationship to the President of Pall. The General Counsel of Pall will be part of a team of GCs within the Life Sciences Platform and across other platforms and Corporate and will be expected to build collaborative relationships to leverage best practices, lessons learned and avoid waste/duplication. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to approx. 30%) and to organize schedule to accommodate global meetings and calls.

This will be located in Port Washington, NY. This is an onsite role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and implement legal strategy on high risk and/or high value matters as well as routine legal operations
  • Be a trusted business partner to executives (operates as senior leadership team member with subject matter expertise in legal/compliance) effectively advising on go to market practices to drive growth and mitigate risk
  • Manage a budget, including forecast accuracy and judicious use of outside counsel and other third party resources.
  • Develop appropriate approaches to litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution; providing regular, clear communication on litigation issues and opportunities to the president and the leadership team as well as the Life Science Platform General Counsels office
  • Assess risk related to mergers & acquisitions strategy from due diligence to post-close integration.
  • Lead compliance program including risk assessment and appropriate countermeasures, training and communications and lead efforts to strengthen the Pall compliance culture.
  • Being a critical team member in formulating an appropriate IP strategy to maximize competitive advantage.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • A law degree from a U.S. accredited law school
  • 12-15 years of experience (top tier law firm and in house experience in any regulated industry)
  • In house at a senior and strategic level in a multinational organization, preferably with a matrix structure
  • People leader experience, preferably with remote management responsibilities
  • Direct responsibility for region(s) outside the US required, foreign language capability a plus.

  • Committed to cross functional team work to drive to root cause
  • Process improvement mindset with critical focus on recognizing synergies, reducing waste within the OpCo and with a view towards improving the Platform Legal function structure.

The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $223,000 $300,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
