Corporate Counsel, Procurement

We are looking for a talented attorney to support our rapidly growing and evolving procurement businesses. You will serve as the primary lawyer responsible for counseling the business on a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters. You will work directly with the business serving as lead counsel on strategic deals, providing day-to-day advice, resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.
Principal duties include structuring, drafting and negotiating complicated procurement, licensing, financial services and other commercial agreements and providing ongoing legal counseling in a wide range of legal areas, including regulatory compliance and intellectual property.
A successful candidate will have a strong transactional background and be hard-working, proactive, entrepreneurial and able to apply sound, pragmatic judgment in ambiguous situations.
Some travel, domestic and international, may be required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work

The base pay for this position ranges from $123,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
