Job Description

Best Buys Legal team has two new Corporate Counsel opportunities which will be supporting our Advertising and Intellectual Property and B2B Sales Channel business areas. The focus areas for these two Corporate Counsel opportunities are detailed below.

This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days on-site at Best Buy's corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy Minnesota location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team.

What youll do
As Corporate Counsel for Advertising and Intellectual Property, youll provide transactional support to the advertising, creative services, consumer research, and media teams and will handle a high volume of sophisticated legal matters in a fast-paced environment.

• Negotiate contracts with ad tech providers, data processing, and agency partners
• Structure business process, draft and negotiate terms and conditions in support of Best Buys media business (Best Buy Ads)
• Partner with privacy and data security stakeholders in cross-functional negotiations

• Structure, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of complex agreements, including master sales agreements
• Provide secondary support for Geek Squad services, membership, service contracts, theft/loss insurance, plans and subscriptions

• JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school, and licensed to practice law in Minnesota
• 3 years of post-bar practicing attorney experience providing legal support in a combination of law firm, government, or corporate settings.
• 2 years of demonstrated work experience providing transactional support and legal advice on complex commercial contracts

• Ability to evaluate complex situations using multiple information sources and provide practical advice on technical matters and business operations
• Ability to quickly develop and maintain relationships with business owners and cross-functional partners to help facilitate transactions and ongoing operations
• Demonstrated communication and diplomacy skills to direct and influence clients and cross-functional partners
• Experience working in a fast-moving environment with minimal supervision
