General Counsel
Overview: The General Counsel serves as the chief legal officer of the ETS with overall responsibility for the vision and leadership of the Organizations legal strategy. The General Counsel will provide legal advice and counsel to the President & CEO, Board of Trustees, and other senior leaders on all legal and other significant matters affecting ETS. This position will oversee and manage ETSs in-house team of attorneys, Compliance, Corporate Contracts, Intellectual Property, and the Office of the Corporate Secretary.
Experience: Fifteen or more years of broad-based legal experience in corporate law and familiarity with running an in-house legal organization. The ideal candidate should have experience working for a transnational company with substantial global M&A activities as well as strong global governance experience.
Compensation: Competitive base and bonus, commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits.
Location: Princeton, NJ headquarters or the Organizations Washington, DC office. For candidates outside this geographic area the expectation is that the GC would travel to the Princeton office on a regular basis. This is not a remote role.
Relocation: Yes, but local candidates are preferred.
Travel: This role will involve periodic travel.
Bar: Currently licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, with ability to become licensed in New Jersey within six months of hire.
