Join Forbes 2023 Best Employer for Diversity! As an associate house counsel staff manager, youll oversee legal assistants, leads, and administrative assistants located in one or more locations. A typical day will involve critical decision making, providing clarity for client questions, handling escalated and complex issues, managing and developing others, and working with managing attorneys to implement new processes and workflows. Ideal candidates will rely on their strong time management skills while providing valuable support to our attorneys, be responsible for any hiring or training efforts, along with coordinating day to day office operations within the support staff. Must-have qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalentand a minimum of two years legal experience A minimum of two years of formal or informal leadership/coaching experience Preferred skills Insurance defense experience along with a solid understanding of the house counsel and/or general legal office environment and the ability to learn and understand litigation process Ability to work independently while maintaining strict adherence to confidentiality and privacy requirements Strong verbal and written communication skills Intermediate PC skills with a working knowledge of spreadsheets along with working knowledge of Progressives systems, safety, quality, and operational procedures, training manuals and company policies and procedures Ability to understand complex business issues and process Compensation $87,465-$102,900 per year Gainshare bonus up to 30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance Benefits 401(k) with dollar-for-dollar company match up to 6% Medical, dental & vision, including free preventative care Wellness & mental health programs Health care flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, & life insurance Paid time off, including volunteer time off Paid & unpaid sick leave where applicable, as well as short & long-term disability Parental & family leave; military leave & pay Diverse, inclusive & welcoming culture with Employee Resource Groups Career development & tuition assistance Energage recognizes Progressive as a 2023 Top Workplace for: Innovation, Purposes & Values, Work-Life Flexibility, Compensation & Benefits, and Leadership.
