Zillow Groups Legal & Compliance contracts review team is looking for an outstanding experienced attorney with a real passion for negotiating contracts who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative and customer-focused environment. We are looking for a candidate to be a key partner and support the procurement, engagement and sourcing business operations and people organizations.
Applicants will have exceptional attention to detail, possess excellent communication skills and ability to foster strong relationships across functions and levels. You should enjoy taking the helm on evolving contract-related processes, efficiencies and forms of agreement while protecting the companys interest, taking a proactive role on organization-specific initiatives, helping the company grow, and delivering dedicated service to cross-functional clients.
In this role, you will
Work on a team of attorneys and non-attorneys
Draft, review and negotiate standard and non-standard commercial agreements, including benefits, recruiting and other employment related agreements; vendor agreements including those with global partners for international contingent workers; online terms and conditions; SaaS and software agreements; professional service agreements, and a variety of other commercial contracts, from first draft to signature
Collaborate with other internal partners, including finance and information security, privacy and compliance, to facilitate detailed review of contracts and identify potential risks.
Develop support playbooks, templates, checklists and other materials to support successful and efficient contracting
Conduct trainings relating to contract-related processes and procedures
Who you are
- Minimum 4-6 years of contracts negotiation and management experience, at least 2-3 years in-house experience preferred
- A responsive project manager, skilled at communicating (orally and in writing) effectively with business partners
- Able to demonstrate good judgment and evaluate risk while considering the larger picture
- Solid understanding of contract law
- Experience with complex licensing, intellectual property, and commercial agreements with domestic and international vendors
- Experience in negotiating benefits and recruiting agreements and supporting other HR contracting needs
- JD with active state bar admission
- Have a strong sense of ownership and accountability in delivering on initiatives and projects with minimal to no oversight
