As the Deputy General Counsel, you will play a critical role in advancing the growth trajectory of our company by overseeing various legal aspects without compromising compliance or industry best practices. Reporting to the General Counsel, your leadership will be instrumental in navigating complex commercial agreements, facilitating strategic partnerships, and ensuring legal integrity across our platform development initiatives.

Tasks:

Lead, mentor, and develop a dynamic team of attorneys, fostering growth and expertise.

Draft, negotiate, and structure intricate SaaS and sponsorship agreements with prominent sports franchises and strategic partners.

Review, draft, and negotiate a diverse range of commercial agreements, including analytics, product integration, licensing, and vendor agreements.

Adapt and refine contract templates to align with evolving business needs and industry standards.

Stay abreast of evolving legal landscapes, ensuring contractual compliance with state and federal regulations.

Collaborate cross-functionally with product, finance, data, marketing, and client support teams to align contractual terms with company objectives.

Establish processes for ongoing compliance with contractual obligations and provide pragmatic guidance to resolve potential issues.

Develop and maintain standardized contract forms and a comprehensive contract playbook.

Provide strategic legal guidance on new product initiatives, balancing risk and opportunity.

Ensure adherence to data security and privacy laws, advocating for best practices across the organization.

Requirements:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a U.S. accredited institution.

Over 15 years of post-J.D. experience, including both law firm and in-house leadership roles.

Proven track record negotiating large-scale, multi-year SaaS partnerships.

Exceptional ability to manage diverse responsibilities and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in optimizing workflows and implementing industry best practices.

Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovative solutions that support strategic business objectives.

Excellent drafting, communication, and analytical abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.

Extensive experience negotiating complex commercial agreements, particularly in the technology sector.

Familiarity with privacy laws relevant to commercial contracts.

Aptitude for balancing legal risk mitigation with business objectives.

Growth-oriented mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Preferred experience in the live events industry and collaborating with sales teams.
