Job Title: Senior Attorney Litigation and Governmental Law

The South Florida Water Management District is a regional governmental agency that oversees the water resources in the southern half of the state, covering 16 counties from Orlando to the Florida Keys and serving 8.1 million residents. It is the oldest and largest of the states five water management districts. Job Description:
The Districts Office of Counsel is seeking to hire a Senior Attorney to represent the District in a wide variety of litigation matters, including but not limited to general civil litigation, real estate, personal injury, construction litigation, and contract law. Jury trial and complex civil litigation experience are a plus. Candidates must have outstanding writing, analytical, editing, and research skills. The ability to work in a collaborative, diverse environment is also required.

Senior Attorney Litigation and Government Law

The ideal candidate has a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and typically 6+ years of experience in substantive and procedural law and complex legal problem-solving skills.


Staff Attorney: The ideal candidate has a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and typically 4+ years of experience in substantive and procedural law.

License:
Active member of the Florida Bar in good standing
Valid State of Florida Drivers License

Physical Requirements/ Working Environment
Due to the Districts response role and in the total scope of emergency management, this position may, at times, require support before, during, and after major storm events and emergencies, such as hurricanes or other declared emergencies, depending on assigned emergency response role.

The salary offered for this position is: Min. $115,000.00, Mid. $130,000.00, Max. $145,000.00.
