Deputy City Attorney
The City of Commerce City is seeking a Deputy City Attorney to provide legal counsel to City officials, department organizers, Boards and Commissions, and city staff in their official duties. As the second in command to the City Attorney, you will have the opportunity to assume the City Attorney's obligations in their absence, with substantial agency and empowerment.
We are looking for a candidate with comprehensive knowledge and expertise in tax, employment law, finance, law enforcement, code enforcement, licensing, elections, land use, public records, or other areas of municipal law. As a Deputy City Attorney, you will be assigned to areas of specialty based on your skills and experience, allowing you to develop your expertise and make a significant impact.
Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.
The typical hiring range for this position is $178,600 - $190,000 /annual.

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado or become licensed in the State of Colorado within 90 days of initial employment. At least eight years experience as a practicing attorney is required; five years municipal experience is required. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
