Precision Medicine Group seeks a collaborative, experienced practicing attorney who can provide high-quality, risk-informed legal analysis and practical legal advice to mitigate regulatory risks and ensure compliance with relevant global laws and policies as a strategic business partner within PMG. The candidate must have effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, an ability to anticipate and deliver legal support to satisfy the needs of a dynamic, diverse, and global business team, and the flexibility to manage an evolving variety of assignments.

More specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate cross-departmentally including with brand functions (e.g., medical communications, marketing, regulatory, clinical solutions, labs) and other functions (e.g., contracting, privacy, HR, IT) to deliver strategic and practical legal support as a trusted advisor on regulatory compliance and related disciplines
  • Monitor, analyze, ensure compliance with, and provide risk-informed legal advice on various laws, including:
  • Various government procurement laws (e.g., Federal Acquisition Regulations)
  • False Claims Act
  • Anti-bribery / anti-corruption laws (e.g., Foreign Corrupt Practices Act)
  • Economic and trade laws (e.g., sanctions, export, debarment laws)
  • Privacy
  • Generative AI
  • HIPAA
  • Trade Sanctions
  • Safety, Occupational, and Environmental laws
  • Other business conduct, employment, and ethics laws
  • Other laws that significantly impact our business

  • Assist with the review, drafting and/or revising of company compliance related policies and standard operating procedures
  • Develop, improve, and manage processes (e.g., to conduct conflicts of interest assessments and third-party due diligence) to improve efficiency and risk management
  • Prepare and update training material and conduct training on a variety of legal and compliance topics
  • Detect federal, state, and local regulatory developments impacting our business and engage stakeholders to ensure appropriate risk management strategies
  • Assist in the preparation of organization and leadership communications
  • Assist with contract reviews for compliance requirements/obligations
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on a case-by-case basis as required by General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer
  • Review company policies and practices on a regular basis to promote the company's goals while appropriately complying with appliable laws
  • Assist with privileged compliance audits and investigations
  • Assist with IP-related matters
  • Support best practices and compliance with global data privacy legislation
  • Provide backup legal support for general corporate legal issues as required and perform all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • JD Degree
  • Member in good standing of a state bar
  • 5-7 years experience practicing law
  • Prior law firm experience is highly preferred
  • Experience working as an in-house counsel preferred
  • Prior experience on global projects preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of exceptional business judgment, pragmatism, and sophistication on commercial aspects of the life sciences industry preferred
  • Strong teamwork skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to lead through trusted advising
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate

Precision is required by law in some states or cities to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Precision, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, parental leave, and paid time off for sick leave and vacation, among other benefits.
