Position Summary:

Represent and counsel Company, and its businesses, in all aspects of corporate, regulatory, litigation, and other legal matters.

Associate General Counsel Position Responsibilities:

  • Review, negotiate, draft, and provide legal advice on commercial agreements with hospitals, physician groups, vendors, and other parties in a manner that protects the organization's interests, limits liability and supports the attainment of overall organizational goals.
  • Review, negotiate, draft, and provide legal advice on employment contracts, separation agreements, and other employee related legal documents.
  • Research and advise on health care laws and regulations affecting the Company's business and operations.
  • Manage legal claims and litigation in a manner that minimizes potential company liability and external legal counsel expenses.
  • Advise on corporate governance matters.
  • Advise on Company policies/procedures.
  • Assist in management of intellectual property.

Essential Skills/Credentials/Experience/Education

  • Excellent academic credentials and Juris Doctorate degree from a nationally recognized law school
  • State bar license (South Carolina or other)
  • 2+ years legal experience (preferably in a law firm)
  • 2+ years health care law experience preferred but not required

    Mental and Physical Demands (per ADA guidelines)

    Physical Demands: Sitting for long periods of time; Regularly requires using computer keyboard, mouse and telephone; Close vision work and ability to adjust focus.

    Travel Demands: Very minimal travel outside of Greenville, SC. Possibly one or two trips per year.

    Annual Compensation: $135,000 - $150,000
