GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

This position acts as a Case Coordinator assigned to a Deputy Prosecutor. Responsible for District Court; required to answer telephone calls and respond to in person public inquiries regarding a variety of issues related to the criminal justice system as needed or directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Acts as a Case Coordinator for one deputy prosecutor. A Case Coordinator duty include tasks include tasks such as preparing criminal information, subpoenas, discoveries, and any other pleadings or correspondence necessary to successfully prosecute the case.
  2. Maintain contact with victims in District Court regarding court proceedings.
  3. Administers ACIC reports and findings.
  4. Check for warrants on current defendants.
  5. Prepare transport orders for inmates for court proceedings.
  6. Enter in all misdemeanor ticket cases.
  7. Request evidence for trials and follow up to ensure file is complete.
  8. Attend court with victims; answer their court related questions.
  9. Print reports from local police agencies.
  10. Responsible for all district court appeals in Saline County.
  11. Act as back up for other coordinators and their duties if the Administrative and Office Managers are out. Most importantly bond hearings.
  12. Backup for Hot Check/Grant Coordinator as needed.
  13. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Technical degree required in such disciplines as Computer Engineering, CPA, etc., plus 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

The incumbent must have his or her State Crime Information Center certification.
