General Counsel, North America

Kraft Heinz Company has engaged Major, Lindsey & Africa on an exclusive basis to conduct a search for a General Counsel, North America (GC, North America). With revenues of ~$26.6 B and a market cap of ~$44.B, Kraft Heinz is a global food company with a delicious heritage, iconic brands, and a focus on continued, future growth fueled by its technology-led investments.

Overview:
The GC, North America will serve as chief legal adviser and business partner to the President of the Companys North America Zone (a business with ~$18B of revenue) (the Zone), and to the Zones management on the legal implications of all organizational activities. Reporting to the Chief Legal and Corporate Affairs Officer, the GC, North America will be a member of both the North America Leadership Team and of the senior leadership team for Kraft Heinzs Legal Department and will manage the North America Legal team of ~40 employees. The ideal candidate will come onboard at a critical juncture for the Zone and the Company, and will focus on transforming the portfolio for growth, while appropriately managing risk, and helping to shape the Companys future against an ever-changing regulatory landscape. This individual will be responsible for developing a vision for the delivery of excellence in legal services and building a high-functioning team to execute this vision.

Experience:
The successful candidate will have at least fifteen (15+) years of legal experience, including in both Big Law and in-house arenas. Business acumen and savvy, minimization of risk while optimizing business results, financial literacy, and experience with regulated industries are required. The successful candidate will possess excellent business and legal judgment (whether honed through exposure to a practice primarily consisting of M&A or litigation matters and including some regulatory and/or government affairs experience). Strong management and leadership skills with the capacity to nimbly make and own decisions and give advice that reflects an understanding of and supports Kraft Heinz business objectives and risk profile are also required.

Location/Relocation:
This is a national search. This is an in-office role at the Companys Chicago, IL headquarters. Remote candidates will not be considered.
