We are seeking a Director of Legal Operations to lead and optimize our team of Legal Operations Associates. The individual will report to the GC and work with the legal teams (which include Compliance, Deals, Employment, and Corporate) and key stakeholders to help project manage and drive process initiatives and gather, analyze, and present data to identify areas for improvement. This individual will work closely with lead attorneys and the executive team to identify and implement on operational efficiency strategies. This individual will also work as an individual contributor to help action the substantive legal workflows owned by the Legal Operations Associates.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work with the GC and key stakeholders to help design a strategic roadmap that addresses process streamlining, technology adoption, and cross-group collaboration effectiveness. Set priorities and allocate resources in alignment with corporate objectives and the strategic plan.
  • Define and drive strategic and operational initiatives and identify areas for operational improvement from ideation to completion; this includes collaborating with Legal Team Leads and key stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, assumptions, dependencies, risks, value proposition/rationale, and develop and manage project plans.
  • Project and program management, including initiatives coordination, templates, standards, and ways of working, project and change management, and efficiency findings and expertise.
  • Outside counsel administration and billing coordination, internal reporting, technology administration and support, office and facilities management, subscriptions and memberships, and legal administration management.
  • Gather, analyze and report on data to support the management of the legal org including, but not limited to, department metrics (such as legal spend) and department budget,
  • Develop and maintain process guidelines, templates, workflows and training for the departments and business partners to drive adoption of department procedures, practices and technology systems/tools. Ensure all departmental processes and procedures are documented and reviewed periodically.
  • Strong knowledge of the legal space, legal technology, operational best-practices, and high degree of business insight (including financials and business intelligence and navigating workplace culture at senior levels).
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to a team of legal operations associates. Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and capabilities and build strong cross-functional relationships with managers across the company.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree or equivalent experience; JD and/or MBA preferred
  • Typically has 15+ years operations experience
  • 8+ years project operations and management experience in a corporate legal division or law firm setting
  • Prior experience developing playbooks, training materials and policies
  • Demonstrated ability to independently drive projects forward by learning project subject matter and gaining the support needed from various stakeholders and a proven track record of collaborating across groups
  • Prior experience in implementing technology solutions
  • Demonstrated and effective analytical and problem solving skills and ability to escalate issues needing attention
  • Demonstrated track record of skillful communications and effective business writing and presentation skills
  • Experience with SharePoint preferred
  • U.S. Person status is required because the role requires access to export controlled information
US Salary Range
$168,000$220,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
