This is your chance to be part of an in-house Legal team at a top global hospitality company! As a Brands Counsel, you will support the team in guiding Hilton's legal activities to ensure maximum protection while engaging in global business and ensuring compliance with our legal obligations. On the Brands Legal team reporting to Senior Director & Senior Counsel Intellectual Property, you will provide legal support to Brands and Marketing business teams to help grow our Hilton brands. You will be an integral part of a dynamic team providing legal support on a wide array of matters, including intellectual property, marketing and regulatory review, and transactional matters.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

What your day-to-day will be like:

  • Work closely with a cross-function internal legal team and outside counsel.
  • Frequent interaction with the business teams to understand the strategic goals.
  • Guide the business in complex legal issues—with a goal of facilitating business goals while mitigating risk.
  • Organize legal data in an easy-to-understand format.

How you will collaborate with others:

  • Weekly meetings with the Brands Legal team to learn important company initiatives and coordinate activities within the team.
  • Periodic meetings with legal team members in the regions (CALA, APAC, and EMEA) to facilitate business goals.
  • Weekly meetings with outside counsel to obtain advice and supervise work.
  • Frequent scheduled or ad hoc meetings with the business partners to provide advice and collect information.

What projects you will take ownership of:

  • Improve processes to communicate and coordinate projects in the regions (by and amongst the business and regional legal teams).

WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Six (6) months of work experience in an in-house legal role.
  • License to practice as an in-house attorney in the United States. (Bar passage sufficient if registration not yet official).
  • Travel up to 10 %.
  • You will be on site in McLean, VA.

It would be useful if you have:

  • Experience working in a hospitality environment.
