Position Summary:

Reporting to the Legal Department Head for Commercial Contracting, this position will primarily support Trend Micros purchasing, marketing, and other organizations in reviewing and negotiating vendor agreements (i.e. services agreement, SOWs, subscription agreements).

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Trend Micros global trademark portfolio and act as primary contact for external trademark counsel and internal business units with respect to trademark matters.

  • Support Trend Micros Enterprise Sales organization in structuring, drafting and negotiating commercial software and SaaS-related agreements.

  • Assist with projects relating to commercial contracting, including updates and enhancements to operational policies and procedures.

  • Assist Senior Product & Compliance Counsel with compliance related matters for North America.

  • Work on a variety of other development or rotational projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of focused, relevant purchasing, marketing and other commercial transactions drafting and negotiation experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.

  • Experience with maintenance of trademarks and basic knowledge of US trademark laws.

  • Experience and aptitude working cross-functionally with internal organizations to resolve questions and concerns.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to use sound judgment to address complex issues while maintaining an appropriate balance between legal and business requirements.

  • Ability to maintain strong working relationships with demanding internal clients, work independently with minimal supervision, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.

  • License to practice in one or more states.

  • Knowledge, use and application of contract lifecycle management software for negotiations.
