Claims Counsel

Job Description:

ATTORNEYS' TITLE FUND SERVICES

In this role, the Claims Counsel will evaluate, process and manage a standard range of assigned claims.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Process new claims submissions.
• Evaluate the merits of claims.
• Select and work with outside counsel in resolving and defending claims.
• Review and track expenditures related to claims.
• Negotiate claim settlements and obtain approval where necessary under department guidelines.
• Own a customers issue from initial contact to resolution or transition the issue to the appropriate person.
• Ensure company policies and financial controls are understood and uniformly followed and administered and ensure work activities are carried out in compliance with federal, state and local laws.
• Contributes to the FUND CONCEPT, TITLE NOTES and other publications.
• Participates as a presenter in legal seminars.

*Candidates must be located in Central Florida as the position is based at HQ in Orlando.*

Education: Juris Doctor

Experience:

• Three years experience in title insurance or related industry.
• Two years in claims is preferred.

License Requirements:

• Must be a member of the Florida Bar

Travel: Occasional in-state and overnight travel may be required.
