In-House Counsel - Global Transactions and Securities Matters
Overview
Heights Capital Management, Inc. (HCM), a global buy-side investment team affiliated with Susquehanna International Group, LLP (SIG), is seeking a lawyer to join its dynamic team based at SIGs headquarters in suburban Philadelphia.
In this role, you will work closely with and be guided by the groups General Counsel who has over 25 years tenure at SIG, the Assistant General Counsel, and the entire investment team. Additionally, you will collaborate with SIGs separate legal and compliance departments in the U.S. and abroad.
In this role, you will:
- Support transactional work in the areas of public capital markets and venture capital, including investments in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
- Review transaction documents and negotiate new transactions.
- Manage outside counsel.
- Provide regulatory advice on active transactions within our investment portfolio.
- Advise on regulatory matters in all jurisdictions, including issues arising from principles of anti-money laundering AML, anti-corruption, and know-your-customer KYC.
- Work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of intellectually stimulating work.
- Have opportunities to travel to Asia and Europe (approximately 2-4 times per year).
What were looking for
- 5-8 years of post-law school experience.
- Ability and willingness to travel to HCMs offices in Asia and Europe.
- Mandarin language working proficiency is a plus.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships with global team members, as well as external counterparties, their counsel, and financial intermediaries.
- The ideal candidate will be open-minded, pragmatic, and flexible, with a strong desire to learn and grow in the role (side-by-side with growth of the global team).
- Visa sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position now or in the future.
