JOB PURPOSE

The Vice President, Risk Management & Compliance will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of risk management and compliance for NTG. This role will involve developing and implementing risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the organization.

  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of risk management and compliance programs and make recommendations for improvement.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the risk management and compliance teams.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that risk management and compliance initiatives are aligned with business objectives.

  • Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company and its operations.

  • Oversee the management of litigation and other legal disputes, including working with outside counsel as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree

  • Law Degree Preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or a related field.

  • Experience in transportation or logistics preferred.

  • Experience working in a leadership role in risk management or compliance.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Solid understanding of risk management principles and practices.

  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, particularly in the transportation and logistics industry.

  • Ability to analyze complex legal and business issues and provide practical advice.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Standard office environment, usually indoors away from the elements with moderate noise. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

PHYSICAL EFFORT

Maintain a stationary position for extended periods; move about the office, operate computers and files, as needed; and frequently communicate with others. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee is required to lift boxes up to 20 pounds.

SCHEDULING

This is a full-time benefits-eligible position, working Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.

TRAVEL

Potential minimal travel for conferences
