Suffolk County government's Municipal law firm team is seeking a trial attorney with experience in federal court practice.

**Must have at least three years of experience defending municipal law enforcement agencies and officers in Section 1983 federal civil rights cases.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Attend depositions, court conferences and trials

  • Conduct legal research and draft motions

  • Draft pleadings and manage documentary discovery

  • Handle cases from inception of litigation through verdict or settlement

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Admitted to practice in NYS required and Federal District Court preferred.

  • Your submission should include your resume, cover letter and a writing sample.
