Assistant General Counsel – Labor & Employment
What You'll Do
Key Duties
Managing all aspects of labor & employment legal matters in the US, Canada, LATAM, and potentially other countries, including employee relations, employment agreements, restrictive covenants, confidentiality of trade secrets and IP, hiring, performance management, terminations, leaves of absence, accommodations, reductions-in-force and restructurings, investigations, litigation and dispute resolution, employee mobility and immigration, compensation and benefits, mergers and acquisitions, navigating cross-border issues, general advice and counsel, and more.
Helping identify, prioritize, develop, and improve labor & employment related policies, processes, guidance documents, self-service toolkits, and other special projects.
Developing and delivering education and training on a wide variety of L&E topics.
Serving as a key member of the L&E Legal team.
Managing external counsel and resources.
Proactively monitoring and communicating changes in labor and employment laws and regulations and work with the business to design and operationalize appropriate responses in keeping with Aristocrats overall values, business objectives, and risk tolerance.
Providing and influencing practical solutions to complex L&E issues within company risk tolerances and in line with company values and objectives.
Providing and/or coordinating legal advice to Aristocrats Global Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Program
Promoting seamless teamwork and become an essential strategic partner to P&C and the business by aiding in their strategic goals and objectives, making internal customer experience a competitive advantage.

Working on routine and special projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Having wide-ranging experience, using professional concepts and Company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative, practical, and effective ways.
Analyzing legal issues impacting the business, evaluating options and recommending practical mitigating actions to balance risk with business objectives.
Supporting and role modeling the Legal Teams Drive to Thrive strategy.
Delivering timely and solution-focused legal services while managing cash flow and achieving budget targets.
Operating as a sustainability champion by providing advice and counsel to our business clients and ensuring that all initiatives meet legal requirements and advance our reputation.
Championing a commitment to honesty, integrity, and responsible corporate behavior by fostering a compliance culture within the organization where employees feel comfortable reporting potential violations or misconduct.

What We're Looking For
About You
A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and a member in good standing with a State Bar in the United States.
10 years minimum experience as a labor & employment attorney handling a wide range of L&E issues either with a law firm, corporation, or both, with deep understanding of and experience with L&E matters across multiple US states.
Desire to manage, or have experience managing, labor & employment legal issues throughout the US and in other countries.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience as in-house L&E counsel involving multi-state and multi-national operations, within a dynamic environment.
Proven ability to work well both independently and as part of a small, close-knit team, as well as cross-functionally with other teams and to influence and build effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Ability to manage competing priorities, simultaneously drive numerous projects, identify, and resolve business issues, and earn the confidence of executive business partners.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, drafting and negotiation skills.
Exceptional business judgment and analytical skills.
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, metric-driven environment across multiple time zones, and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
Action-oriented and eager to do whatever it takes to provide the best service.
Understands the global environment and how cultural differences impact communication.
Fluency in a second language is a plus.

SalaryOur goal is to pay a market competitive salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education, skills, work location, and internal pay equity.
