Job Summary:

The Senior Manager will be responsible for supporting the development of a practice to provide Legal Operations and related services, with a core go to market strategy focused on the corporate and legal channels. In this role, this Senior Manager will be responsible for executing on the operational, business and marketing aspects of the practice. This position should have experience with executing on a program which includes all facets of Legal Operations, from design to implementation to execution, inclusive of associated technologies.

Job Duties:

  • Supports the development of a Legal Operations program plan for senior leadership approval and presents to senior members of the team
  • Supports work with our strategist, FTS Leadership Team and marketing team to design a go-to-market strategy, branding campaign, sales collateral & other supporting materials
  • Executes on specific client engagements, leveraging workflows developed as part of the Legal Operations practice
  • Aggressively develops & manages a client base for Legal Operations to meet forecasted revenue targets
  • Helps to develops Legal Operations service offerings for specific sectors, including, but not restricted to, Healthcare, Financial Services, Manufacturing, and Pharma
  • Helps to develop policies and procedures for the Legal Operations practice to execute against, both internally and externally, inclusive of visual workflow
  • Identifies toolkit procurement requirements for the Legal Operations practice and assists with contract negotiations
  • Supports the operational oversight responsibilities related to FTS Legal Operations team members providing project management and technical services, in the execution of related activities
  • Leads and assists in business development activities focused on the Legal Operations practice, including identifying opportunities for expansion of existing engagements and identifying stand-alone and new business opportunities
  • Advises clients on Legal Operations
  • Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the supervision of the day-to-day workload of engagement staff and reviews work product, as appropriate
  • Assists in the evaluation of the performance of engagement staff and assists in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional development, as appropriate
  • Delivers periodic performance feedback and completes annual performance evaluations for engagement staff
  • Acts as Career Advisor to staff, as assigned

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in related field, required
  • Advanced degree in relevant technology program, preferred

Experience:

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in Legal Operations, required
  • Active network of potential clients, with proven track record of converting prospects to clients, required
  • Prior experience in the Legal Operations community, preferred
  • Strong technical experience, preferred
  • Prior experience acquiring, training and mentoring consulting professionals, required
  • Participation within professional associations, preferred

Software:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, required

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong business acumen and experience running a practice
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, negotiate, and manage change
  • Capacity to successfully manage and secure sales of Legal Operations and related services engagements
  • Ability to develop and maintain a diverse network of referral sources to include mid-size to large corporations and law firms
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Capable of effective managing a team of consulting professionals and delegating work assignments, as needed
  • Capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and client personnel
  • Ability to encourage team environment on engagements and contribute to the professional development of assigned personnel
  • Executive presence and ability to act as primary contact on assigned engagements
  • Ability to successfully interact, develop and maintain relationships with professionals at all levels, both internal and external to the organization

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidates qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

California Range: $150,000 - $195,000
Colorado Range: $150,000 - $195,000
NYC/ Long Island/Westchester Range: $150,000 - $195,000
Washington Range: $150,000 - $195,000
