About the Role

LendingClub Banks Compliance Department is seeking an experienced and qualified compliance professional to fill the role of Deputy Chief Compliance Officer (DCCO). The DCCO will report to the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and assist with the overall administration of the Banks compliance program and provide leadership to the Compliance Team. The DCCO, as a senior level employee, will help set the Banks compliance risk management strategy and will work with senior leaders across the business to implement policies, procedures, and process controls designed to assure ongoing compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain enterprise compliance policies that clearly set forth all legal and regulatory requirements to which the Bank and its employees must adhere.
  • Collaborate with first-line management to develop and implement operational procedures and process controls designed to assure compliance and create monitoring and reporting to identify and remediate deficiencies.
  • Directly oversee the Banks compliance activities related to Fair & Responsible Banking, Consumer Privacy, and Community Reinvestment, with the compliance leaders of each of those areas and their staff reporting up to the DCCO.
  • Coordinate with other compliance leaders on the identification and measurement of compliance risks and the adequacy of controls to mitigate those risks through the use of effective risk assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Lead and participate in discussions with senior management and various oversight committees on compliance matters, including strategic priorities, risk assessments, regulatory change management, compliance monitoring and testing, training, issues management, consumer complaints, and third party risk.
  • Engage with senior management on the development and implementation of new or material changes to products or services to assess compliance risks and ensure appropriate mechanisms are in place to monitor and mitigate those risks.
  • Develop and present analysis and reporting to management and the board on the status of the compliance program and any material regulatory developments or risks to the Bank.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for compliance audits and regulatory examinations and spearhead corrective actions and remediation efforts.
  • Lead and mentor compliance staff to expand their regulatory knowledge and advance their skills to promote professional development and career growth.
  • Execute key responsibilities and make decisions on behalf of the CCO in his or her absence or as delegated by the CCO.

About You

  • 15+ years of direct compliance experience in a regulated financial institution.
  • Experience leading and managing staff, including training, development, and performance management.
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in Fair and Responsible Banking (fair lending and UDAAP compliance), Privacy, and Community Reinvestment.
  • Strong knowledge of federal consumer protection laws and regulations to include but not limited to ECOA, TILA, TISA, FCRA, FDCPA, EFAA, EFTA, ESIGN, SCRA/MLA, GLBA, UDAAP, CRA, and Fair Lending. Also, knowledge of and experience managing compliance with Regulation O and Regulation W.
  • Bachelors or higher degree.
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or experience as a federal bank examiner preferred.
