Company History

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide legal oversight and consultation to all company departments on matters not involving claims-related litigation.
- Anticipate and guard against legal risks by proactively identifying and resolving legal issues throughout the company.
- Review and monitor legislative and regulatory changes, recommending new or revised procedures where appropriate.
- Provide legal oversight and assist in supervision of regulatory examinations.
- Responsible for preparation and review of corporate and vendor contracts to ensure compliance with all applicable statues and regulations.
- Responsible for preparation and submission of regulatory filings and statements in compliance with applicable insurance holding company laws and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop working relationship with regulatory authorities in all jurisdictions where any corporate entity is authorized or licensed to sell products.
- Recommend and develop company policy and position on legal issues and provide legal oversight and development of revised procedures where appropriate.
- Provide leadership on company committees and projects and preside over such committees and projects as needed.
- Provide legal consultation on collection and bankruptcy activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to present solutions to complex challenges, work independently, balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point.
EDUCATIONS QUALIFICATIONS
- J.D. from accredited law school.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Current law license.
- Previous legal experience with exposure to insurance coverage, regulatory and/or compliance matters.
