JobSummary:

Privately held Boulder based technology company Spectra Logic is looking for an In-House General Counsel who will serve as the primary legal advisor for our company. This role includes providing legal counsel to the executive team, managing our companys legal affairs, and overseeing human resources matters.

Weareseekingapersonthat has a highly and hands on approach to business and legal risks, balancing the legal cost of effort against the probability and consequences of an adverse outcome. Ideally the candidate would have some business management experience and can team and work well with a broad range of members of our company.

KeyResponsibilities:
  1. Legal Risk Management: Identify and analyze legal risks and propose appropriate actions. Draft legal documents such as contracts, statements, agreements etc. Manager various corporate insurance policies.
  2. Human Resources Oversight: Oversee human resources activities and ensure they comply with labor laws laws and regulations. Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  3. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations.
  4. OverseeSpectrasintellectualpropertiesandstatutoryfilings.
  5. AdviseSpectraonlitigationstrategy.
  6. Communicatewithoutsidecounsel,clients,andregulators.
  7. AssistA/Rincollectionsandhaveworkingknowledgeofbankruptcylaw.
  8. Leadnegotiationswithoutsideparties.
  9. Maintainarecordofcompanylegaldocuments.
  10. Understandinginternationallawsinemployment,agency,andcontractlawsaswellasGDPRandsimilardataprotectionlaws.

What you need to bring to the table:

  • Experience at a law firm doing general corporate, commercial, and M&A work.
  • Experience doing in-house commercial legal work, including licensing and OEM/Distributor/Reseller agreements. Comfortable with understanding technical concepts as they relate to the business.
  • Experienceoverseeinghumanresourcesactivities.
  • Excellentjudgementandanalyticalskills.
  • Basedlocallywiththeabilitytobeonsitefor4daysperweek.
  • Ability to collaboratively work with a broad range of Spectra employees, customers, suppliers, partners and build long-term relationships.
  • Demonstrableprofessionalism,ethics,andintegrity.
  • Keenunderstandingofthebudgetarymanagementofacorporatelegaldepartment.
